Recently, more information about what sort of skins players can expect from Valorant at launch has come to light. According to a video from Qwixzo , the YouTube channel of IGN Nordic staffer Nick Nijland, Riot is adding a weapon skin to Valorant based on Urf the manatee. Urf is a joke character that Riot claimed was going to be added to the game as part of an April Fool’s Day joke, but has instead become the mascot of League of Legends ’ Ultra Rapid Fire mode. CW president Mike Pedowitz has been working to get a military drama on the network for several years now, and the choice to make Valor , a drama about U.S. Army helicopter pilots who find themselves embroiled in a conspiracy following a mission that went completely awry, the network's first foray into the subgenre an interesting one. For one thing, Valor is late to the party; NBC already launched The Brave and CBS SEAL Team , meaning The CW is entering into a marketplace that may already be saturated with military dramas. For whatever reason, the suspending of disbelief required to invest in either lead as actual soldiers feels like a step too far. Given the kind of programming The CW is known for, perhaps that's what stymied previous efforts to bring a military drama to the network. There's no reason a military drama can't be blended with a soapy melodrama, but Valor doesn't seem to have the right formula just yet. Perhaps it will work things out as the series progresses, but then again, perhaps it will mean the network president's dream of having a military drama on his schedule will have to wait a bit lon


Valor certainly looks like something The CW hasn't really attempted before. There are hints of Homeland and Courage Under Fire buried in the very long first look trailer, as the military drama strikes a similar chord in terms of its characters being forced to reconcile with decisions made while in combat overseas. Like Dynasty , there are some questions as to whether or not Valor will connect with the network's younger-skewing audience -- especially since it lacks star power of any kind -- but its central mystery and various dramatic conflicts might be enough to keep viewers enga
